Ubuntu and other Linux distributions have extensive package repositories, such as the Ubuntu Software Center, and/or the Synaptic Package Manager. Still, Every now and then you’ll find an obscure application or the newest stable or beta version of the application that has not made it into the ‘Package Store’. Therefore, it’ll have to compiled from source. In this post, I will be installing Arduino IDE on Ubuntu 16.04.1.
sudo wget –output-document arduino.tar.xz https://www.arduino.cc/download.php?f=/arduino-nightly-linux64.tar.xz
tar -xvf arduino.tar.xz
ls ‘To see the name of the directory where it extracted.
